What To Write Wednesday: 28/05/2025

You drag your hand across your face, wiping off another layer of sweat and blood. Vomit momentarily fills your mouth; as much as you hope majority was from the beast you knew it was mostly yours.

You spun around again, eyes to the heavens. Where was it? Then a pain so overwhelming hit right between your shoulderblades. It felt like a thousand knives were driving into your flesh at once.

You stumbled forward, everything blinking out of existence before you even hit the ground. Is this what dying feels like?

After what felt like hours but must have only been seconds in this void did the words resound.

I tried to do something a little different with today's writing prompt. If you liked it, can you please send a response to storybridgeteens@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you. And you have a chance to be selected for next week's WTWW post!

So get writing. If you want to see the other posts click here. Please do respond. I am trying to see if people would actually be interested. And if you want you can always follow :) (Sorry, not sorry)

Without further a do let me introduce you (look, I am a poet and I don't know it ) to last week's winning piece!

Once again by Samantha Miller (WTW profile: Miller010). Such a rockstar!

the clock ticks as I scribble in the small bubbles on my testing sheet,

sweat bubbles on my forehead, the heat in the room making my paper damp
the letters on my page start to move around, are these even words anymore?

tap, tap, tap, tap
that familiar nauseating sound of a number 2 pencil hitting the desk
I glance and glare at the boy on the other side of the room
my eyes say what my mouth can't, "stop tapping!"
he grins and taps louder and faster, my mind spiraling into a fury
I cannot focus on my test,
wait...
where's my testing paper...
The teacher stands at the front of the class and marks the end of the exam.
I'm screwed.
